Conditions of admission to doctoral study

According to Section 56, Paragraph 4 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts, the basic condition for admission to doctoral studies is completion of a second-level study program. Based on Section 57, Paragraph 1 of the Act, FMMR TUKE determines the following additional conditions for admission to individual study programs:

Deadline for publishing topics for doctoral studies: 31. 3. 2026

Application deadline: 14. 6. 2026

Admission procedure deadline: 26. 6. 2026

In the case of persons who have been granted asylum, subsidiary protection or temporary refuge, the condition under Section 56, Paragraph 1 may be demonstrated by means of a sworn statement and a test of general study aptitude. Details are specified in the internal regulations of the relevant university.

Applications for doctoral studies with all the necessary documents (CV, proof of completion of 
second-level university education) are submitted only in electronic form, via CEP or using the MAIS academic information system on the web portal eprihlaska.tuke.sk

In the application, the applicant is required to provide the information specified in Section 58, Paragraph 3 of the Act, and the application cannot be submitted without providing all the required information.

Accredited study programs for the academic year 2026/2027

The university provides doctoral students enrolled in full-time doctoral studies with a scholarship for the duration of their studies. If the study program lasts longer than the standard length in the Slovak language, it is subject to a fee in accordance with Rector's Order PR/TUKE/03/24 (€600 per academic year). Part-time study is subject to a fee in accordance with Rector's Order PR/TUKE/03/24 (€700 per academic year). Full-time study programs taught exclusively in a language other than the official language are subject to a fee in accordance with Rector's Order PR/TUKE/03/24 (€7,000 per academic year). Studying a study program in an external form exclusively in a language other than the state language is subject to a fee in accordance with Rector's Order PR/TUKE/03/24 (€4,870 per academic year).

The faculty reserves the right to adjust the number of applicants it plans to accept for the relevant study program depending on the current number of applicants, current social demand, and current capacity.
